A decision that prospecting college students have to make is choosing what they want to study in college among some of the best and
worst college majors. Growing up in today’s society children are taught and told from childhood by parents, teachers, and peers that the wise decision is to go to college and get a great education in order to open up doors to a higher potential income. The truth of the matter is that college is not for everyone, simple and plain. Students that end up in colleges without a plan or vision of what they want to do or be and may end up choosing one of
worst college majors. Although they might choose a path for something that they find very interesting, trouble could arise when it’s time to find a job and have you left with a hefty bill of loans to pay back without the job or income to pay it back. The bottom line is, if you are going to make roughly a $40,000 long term investment, why not put it somewhere that has a larger
opportunity to be successful.
In some cases students go blindly, get caught up in the partying, socializing, and encounters with the opposite sex that they forget why they are even in school. In addition, there are so many people that go to college and put too much focus on their grades. I am not saying that grades are not important, but it is truly about the knowledge gained and experiences that will hold the most value whether you choose one of the best or

On the contrary though, some individuals go into school picking one of the
worst college majors knowing the risks of low employment or low income potential. These individuals may not be in it for the money. Majors like Religion, Art, and Music are prime examples of fields that chosen just out of pure enjoyment and fulfillment from that area.

The fact of the matter is that cave explorations and long treks like some heroes seen on TV is of the past and these majors find themselves exploring classified ads looking for work more than exploring of caves, tombs, and other artifacts from ancient history.

This next major is ranked on this list because it contains, as previously discussed the fulfillment of working with someone’s passion but lacks the financial compensation one needs for being a college graduate. Photography is has the highest salary out of any art major. The crazy thing about this is that the salary is still $10,000 less than a typical degree. Then not to mention the unemployment rate is barely better than a HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT. This solidifies Film and Photography on the

Dreams of making it big in show business are what drive individuals into these majors. Thoughts of singing on Broadway or being the next great pop singer on a stage with all of the lights has blinded these individuals from the reality that it is not easy to be successful in this career field. worst college majors because of the difficulty of the job placement and so much determination on opportunity and discovery to be able to see advancement.

This just makes it seem that there had to be other alternatives to choose from to give a chance to make a salary that can support a better lifestyle.

It’s been found that nearly 1 out of every 10 English graduates struggle to find work after graduation. What distinguishes this major from the others on the list is the fact that not only do recent graduate's salaries are 15% lower than the top 100 majors, but older English grads still make almost $10,000 less than the others. This evidence speaks volumes about how the growth potential for this career field is very grim unless you plan to be a teacher or professor.
